I’d been meaning to watch Netflix’s First Kill for a while, but before I did, my Jewish friend sent me this post by @magnetothemagnificent highlighting how it draws from antisemitism. So I went into it knowing there are antisemitic themes and seeking to find more so I could compile them. it’s important to engage with potentially prejudiced media critically, and I’d only seen Jewish ppl talking about it so I thought maybe it’s vague and dogwhistley, the kind you only notice or you’re looking for it. And I can’t say if it is or isn’t because I was looking for it, but many things seemed very very explicit to me. So I’ve made a list of everything that raised alarm bells for me so it’s all in one place;
